Activities & Recreation Center is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the Activities & Recreation Center Web site and governs data collection and usage. By using the Activities & Recreation Center website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Collection of your Personal Information

Activities & Recreation Center collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number. Activities & Recreation Center also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, and preferences.

Activities & Recreation Center collects and uses your personal information to operate the Activities & Recreation Center Web site and deliver the services you have requested. Activities & Recreation Center also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Activities & Recreation Center and its affiliates. Activities & Recreation Center may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

Refund Policy

All refunds require the approval of a departmental manager.

The following are viable reasons for permitting refunds:
* Termination of employment or withdrawal from classes
* Change in employment status: shift change, home department or job duties
* Cancelled event
* Medical request: unable to use service, may include family medical leave
* Exceptions: hardship special circumstances require the prior approval of a departmental manager

Check transactions must be refunded by check.

Credit card refunds must be processed via credit card transaction credit and posted to the same card used in the original purchase.

Refunds will include that portion (prorated) of the State Retail Sales Tax based upon the tax rate charged at the time of purchase for those transactions where the tax was applied.

Course Refunds

Participants enrolled in a program or class may transfer or withdraw until 7 days prior to the program start date. Transfers or refunds within 7 days, but before, the program's start date will only be issued if a waiting list is active for the program and must be authorized by the Program Coordinator. Programs, camps or classes may be cancelled if minimum registration numbers are not obtained prior to the start date. In this case a full refund will be issued. If a class is cancelled by Activities & Recreation Center, or due to weather it will be rescheduled at the next available time.


Membership Cancellations & Refunds


Membership refunds are prorated from the date of refund to the end date of the current membership.

For payment by payroll deduction:
* The payroll deduction must continue for at least one year from the date of purchase.
* The membership and deductions will continue after the first year until a cancellation request is submitted in writing to the Fitness Desk. There will be no refund and the deduction will be stopped at the next pay period following the request.

Facility Cancellations


All cancellations shall be submitted in writing to the Activities & Recreation Center at arcevent@uw.edu or at 18220 Campus Way NE, Bothell, WA 98011.

If cancellation is received or post marked within 2 months of event reservation date, deposit shall be refunded in full.

If cancellation is received or post marked less than 2 months prior to event reservation date, deposit will be kept by the Activities & Recreation Center.
